Introduction & Consent

The Narmada Prerna Yatra, an initiative of the Serve Happiness Foundation, is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy governs how we collect and process data when you apply for or participate in our transformational journey. By registering or using our services, you consent to the collection of your data and specifically authorize the use of photographs and video recordings taken during the Yatra for promotional and archival purposes. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18 without explicit guardian consent.

Information Collection & Usage

  2. Application & Identification: Full name, contact details (Email/WhatsApp), age, gender, occupation, and address to evaluate eligibility and facilitate logistics.
  3. Financial & Scholarship Data: Income proof and financial statements for scholarship evaluation, alongside transaction IDs for fee processing via secure gateways (e.g., Razorpay). We do not store card details.
  4. Health & Impact Data: Basic medical history for your safety during the journey, and post-journey enterprise details to foster our social entrepreneurship ecosystem.
  5. Purpose of Use: This data is used solely to administer the Yatra, coordinate meals/accommodation, communicate updates, and showcase the journey's impact through social media and reports.
Data Sharing, Security & Retention

  2. Sharing: We do not sell your data. It is shared only with internal teams (selection committees, medical staff), essential service providers (payment gateways, secure cloud storage), and partners (local role models) to facilitate the journey.
  3. Security: We employ SSL/TLS encryption and strict access controls. While no digital transmission is 100% secure, we take industry-standard precautions to protect your files.
  4. Retention: Financial records are kept for 7 years for legal compliance. Application and media data are retained indefinitely to maintain the integrity of our alumni network and historical documentation.
Your Rights & Contact Information

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) of India, you have the right to access a summary of your data, request corrections to inaccurate information, or request deletion of data that is no longer required for the Yatra’s operation.
